Police are appealing for information about a robbery in a garage area of Peartree Close, South Ockendon.
The robbery happened around 4am on Saturday. A 21-year-old delivery driver had parked his white Luton van and opened the rear doors when he was attacked from behind by two men.
The man was hit several times with a silver metal pipe or rod by a man wearing a blue hoodie. The other suspect appeared to be carrying a six inch long silver article, possibly a knife.
The men made off with a mobile phone and a sum of cash. The delivery driver sustained a bump on the head and an injury to his hand.
