It was a night to forget for the Hammers up at the home of Elite League newcomers King’s Lynn as they fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of the Stars.
King’s Lynn proved unstoppable after storming to a 65-30 victory last night (Monday).
The encounter was over as a contest after four heats with the Stars easing into a 20-4 lead.
Everything was going the way of the hosts and reserve Filip Sitera nabbed Peter Ljung on the line to make it four maximums in a row behind skipper Olly Allen.
Lee Richardson came out in a black and white helmet in the fifth and promptly arrested the slide, his second place earning his side a drawn heat.
Hammers also earned a share of the spoils in the next but normal service was soon resumed for the hosts, back-to-back 5-1s taking the Stars into a 41-15 lead.
The returning Rob Mear deserves a mention for his seven points at reserve for the Hammers, for whom Piotr Swiderski (1) and Kauko Nieminen (0) were a bitter disappointment.
