Man held after burglary at Garden Centre

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at Smiths Orchard Garden Centre, Chadwell Road, Grays.

At 11.45pm on Friday, April 15, a burglary allegedly occurred at the garden centre and two BBQs, worth an estimated £800, were stolen.

A 23-year-old man from Grays was arrested in connection with the offence on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling, and has been released on bail until Thursday, May 19, pending further investigation.

Police are trying to trace a second suspect that they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as a white man, wearing dark clothing and 5’10” tall.
