Domestic incident in Springfield Road, Grays

POLICE were called to Springfield Road, Grays following reports of a domestic incident in the street.

Neighbours reported seeing a heated altercation between a woman in her sixties and a teenage girl.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We were called to Springfield Road just before noon on Friday (May 20th) in relation to a domestic incident.

“We attended and spoke to a number of people. There have been no arrests, no cautions and no charges.”

A number of people in the Blackshots area who described themselves as neighbours called YT to describe what they said they had seen.

A neighbour who did not wish to be named said: “I was very concerned. The woman was holding a golf club and chasing the young girl.


  1. This altercation between an elderly woman and a minor is sad but in this day and age nothing shock’s me. Luckily there is a local conservative in that same road i think its Cllr Redsell she might show these people this will not be tolerated in our community. I remember talking to this local councillor a quite a few years ago at Langdon Hills golf about family values I sure it was at a wedding fair. Lovely lady
    Perhaps we do need more for the children in our community to prevent this behavior

    “This programme helps to provide performing art opportunities to young people who often have difficulty finding engaging and constructive activities to do after school.”

    This councillor seems the ideal woman to sort out these kind of situations in our communities
