IT’S that time of year again for St. Lukes Hospice to hold another marvellous Summer Fete, taking place in the hospice grounds next to Basildon Hospital on Saturday 11th June from 12noon.
Event Co-ordinator Ed Pearce from Basildon, has taken on this role this summer and has organised a wide diversity of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. ‘This year we have gone all out with the main attractions including a mouth-watering Hog Roast, BBQ and Indian Cuisine with delicious treats to follow such as Candy Floss, Strawberries and Cream and Popcorn.’
There is also some fantastic entertainment and performances from Magicians to Singers including Euro Visions Josh Debovie, Dog Display Shows, Bands, Classic Cars, Scooter Display, Five Star Children’s driving school.
To add to all this fun we also have an assortment of stalls holding Plants, Flowers, Pic-a-Pet, DVD’s, Books, Tombola, a huge selection of Lilliput Lane Cottages and a fantastic Raffle.
Ed added ‘This year the hospice is celebrating its 21st Birthday and we have lots more stalls, games and attractions. With the help of the staff and fantastic volunteers we have made this years fete even bigger and better. This year we are aiming to raise £12,000, so please come along enjoy the sunshine and help a worthy cause.’
Fundraisers at the hospice hope that the fete will raise a significant amount which will support the difficulty they face every year in trying to finance a quality care service.
