Swimmers swap fins for finery!

THREE William Edwards students, who swim competitively for Thurrock Swimming Club, swapped their fins for finery on Wednesday 20th July, to attend The William Edwards School and Sports College ‘Sports Award Evening’.

The event was held at The Civic Hall in Grays next door to Blackshots – the home of Thurrock Swimming Club.

And of course swimming awards were on the agenda with James Day winning the boys award and Georgia Mills winning the girls award which evidences the partnership between local schools and the borough club.

All three pupils not only compete in swimming but actively participate at William Edwards in athletics, with both Katherine and Georgia competing in cross country. James also competes in track and field and is a member of the year 8 rugby team.

These outstanding athletes are a credit to both William Edwards School and Thurrock Swimming Club.
