Refreshments, in the form of a finger buffer were provided by the members.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 28th. September at 10.00 a.m. at the same venue.

  1. Maggie Whitbread is THE backbone of Thurrock – her energy and dedication never seizes to amaze. She gave many years as a Teacher – giving Tilbury kids so much – and she also made an Olyimpic gold Medal possible – without HER that wouldn’t have happened. She truly deserves the Freedom of this Borough – without her Vision for a better Culture for all – it would be a much dimmer place. She always gives her all – and, apparently, as UA3 proves – will never stop doing so. (she was a colleague of mine in Teaching once – though I haven’t seen her for years – but I can note her undoubted first class performance in all of those years). Thurrock Council take note – she is SIMPLY THE BEST and personifies everything which David Cameron thinks HE invented in terms of the Big Society – sorry David – Maggie was enacting all that way back in the 1980s. She has no equal. Vive MAGGIE!- a Woman definitely on par with the other Maggie! Admiration for her can only grow.
