Stifford Clays infant and nursery School have got off to a great start with their annual harvest appeal collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child which is an initiative of Samaritan Purse – A Christian relief and development organisation which works to support children and families in need across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Many visitors attended a special assembly including PSA members and governors of our school.
Carol Outlaw from Samaritans Purse and Jon Dell local organiser enthralled children with pictures and their experiences of distributing the boxes from last years appeal.
Each box is lovingly filled with small gifts for a boy or girl including letters from some children for the recipients and in the past few years some have received letters of grateful thanks.
Linda Catton Headteacher said “We are always overwhelmed by the continued support and generosity of our schools community, I hope that all Thurrock schools support Jon Dell ad his efforts in Thurrock this year”.
