SHADOW home secretary, Yvette Cooper was the keynote speaker at a Thurrock Labour fundraiser for newly selected parliamentary candidate for Thurrock, Polly Billington at the Park Inn, North Stifford last night.
An audience of seventy attended the fundraiser as Ms Billington sets out on her campaign to regain the seat from Conservative MP, Jackie Doyle Price, who has a majority of just 92.
Before the fundraiser, YT spoke to Ms Cooper about a number of issues including her advice and support for Ms Billington as well as a number of issues that affect the criminal justice system in Thurrock.
Shame that we have to import politicians. They cannot claim to know Thurrock and its problems, or it residents.
I prefer home-grown!
Why isn’t she Yvette Balls? Too embarrassed by her Husband perhaps? Or just a ‘right-on’ member of the Labour sisterhood?
