A PURFLEET man who had just set up a self-help charity to help vulnerable people has himself been jailed for harassment.
David Kerr, 45, Marine Court, Purfleet was sentenced to sixteen weeks in prison at Basildon magistrates court today (Wednesday).
Kerr had been seriously assaulted back in 1991 as part of the now infamous “Ealing vicarage rapes”.
A court heard that Kerr had been the subject of a conditional discharge for 12 months on the 10th November last year for the offence of harassment.
But he had breached the order after harassing his ex-partner Susan Whipps and Stephen Adcock on the 12th November.
Chair of magistrates, Mr Hollis sentenced Kerr to sixteen weeks.
