PROBLEM families are set to receive a cash boost of £20,000 in order to help their critical needs.
A report at last nights cabinet outlined that: “This strand is about transforming services delivered by several different agencies including probation, mental health, housing, and police etc to improve the outcomes for families with multiple problems.
“As well as more supportive outcomes, the initiative intends to make efficiencies across how public services work together. Thurrock is included in the roll out of this programme.
“£20,000 is available via the Early Intervention Grant to deliver a project plan to be published by 1 April.
“This will be led through the People’s Directorate with a further report to be made to Cabinet.”
The cash injection will add to the £150,000 given to the family intervention organisation, Catch 22 to work with problem families in the borough from their base at Hassenbrook school.
