LAKESIDE’S marketing team scooped two awards and earned national recognition from the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) last week at the Purple Apple Marketing Awards. Lakeside’s charitable 21 Good Deeds and innovative Boardwalk Busking event were selected as examples of exceptional shopping centre marketing.
The judges said 21 Good Deeds was “an excellent way to demonstrate commitment to the community” and Boardwalk Busking was “a creative, interactive idea that embraced social media…an unexpected approach to shopping centre events”.
Lakeside’s marketing team was honoured on stage, presented with certificates and handed Purple Apple merit trophies by former England rugby star Austin Healey.
Sophie Scott, Marketing Manager at Lakeside commented, “The team at Lakeside work incredibly hard to market the centre as effectively as possible – in increasingly challenging times – for the benefit of every one of our 250 shops, cafes and restaurants. The Purple Apples are the ultimate form of recognition in our industry so we’re delighted that our efforts have been singled out once again.”
Lakeside has previously received four merits and a Purple Apple at these awards, the only ones which recognise and reward effective shopping centre marketing in the UK.
