shoppers have chosen their favourite shops and restaurants to receive awards in the fourth Retailer Awards night at Lakeside. 25 different shops received well earned recognition at last night’s awards evening, hosted by Martin and Su from Heart Essex.
A phenomenal 3,000 votes were cast online and in centre as shoppers made the most of the opportunity to vote for their favourites in seven separate categories. Winners included Primark, which shoppers said they ‘couldn’t live without’ and Boots, which took the top spot in the ‘Friendliest Staff’ category for the second year running.
Lakeside’s top shops, scooping two accolades each, were Apple, Marks and Spencer and Costa Coffee. Other shops rewarded on the night included the Disney Store in the ‘Family Friendly’ category, and Accessorize, selected for its window displays that have the ‘wow factor’.
Kylie Minor, Acting Marketing Manager at Lakeside, said: “This was the fourth year that we’ve rewarded our shops and restaurants in this way and, once again, it was a fantastic night. We were delighted that so many shoppers chose to vote as it proves that they truly appreciate the great service and wide range of shops that we are lucky to have here at Lakeside.”
