Private landlord links up with council housing team

THURROCK Council’s Private Housing Team is working with a private accredited landlord in helping to recruit new officers.

Mr Ahmed of Ashford Estates has kindly offered access to his properties in Thurrock, to allow candidates to carry out a full inspection to assess housing defects and remedies. This will assess the skills and knowledge of the candidates.

Mr Ahmed said “I am pleased to be able to work with the Private Housing Team by allowing access to our properties.

“The Private Housing Team has provided great support and advice to us on how to maintain higher standards throughout our property portfolio.

“Our relationship with the Team has made our properties a better place for tenants”.

The council continues to work with all private landlords and in response to recent requests from landlords for training, a half day course on ‘practical possession’ issues is being held on the 14 December at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays. 50% discount vouchers are available for all.
