THERE WAS a boost for Thurrock in the chancellor’s autumn statement as he pledged a £1 billion road improvement package that will include the M25 in Thurrock.
The chancellor had thanked Thurrock MP, Jackie Doyle-Price in person for her work and commitment to the on-going challenge of improving the M25 at junction 30.
Mr Osbourne said:
“We’re committing an extra billion pounds to roads, including four major new schemes to:upgrade key sections of the A1, bringing the route from London to Newcastle up to motorway standard.
Link the A5 with the M1, dual the A30 in Cornwall and upgrade the M25, which will support the biggest port developments in Europe, and I pay tribute to my HF for Thurrock for campaigning to achieve this.
Since becoming MP in May 2010, Ms Doyle -Price has campaigned for better infrastructure at junction 30 in order to facilitate better infrastructure links to ventures such as DP World (London Gateway).
The extra £1bn to roads, including upgrading A1, A30, and M25.
