POLICE were called to Connaught Avenue, Grays at 11am this morning after a report of the theft of a white ford transit.
The vehicle was traced and found abandoned, 30 minutes later in Milford Road, Grays.
Essex Police believed that a Vauxhall Vectra may have been involved in the theft.
Two hours later, there was a suspected sighting of the Vectra in Rodings Avenue, Corringham.
The Essex Police helicopter was dispatched, the area was searched but there was no trace of the vehicle.
Enquiries are continuing.
