ARMED police swooped on a travellers site in Wickford in connection with a road traffic collision in Chadwell St Mary last month.
At 11am on November 28th, Essex Police attended at a road traffic collision (RTC) near to Sandy Lane in Chadwell St Mary but were unsure whether injuries were sustained through the collision or altercations afterwards.
On police arrival, there were a number of people who had sustained a number of injuries.
None of the injuries were life-threatening and some of the injured were taken to Basildon hospital.
The police helicopter was a the scene to ensure none of the injured had wandered from the scene.
On Thursday morning, (Dec 20th) up to five police units including armed officers, a dog unit and uniformed officers attended at the Wickford site.
This followed the arrest of a man in London earlier that day in connection with the RTC.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “A man has been arrested in London in connection with a roadside assault in Chadwell St Mary.”
