Appeal for good samaritan after vicious attack in Chafford Hundred

POLICE in Thurrock are appealing for information following an assault on a man on December 30 between 1-4pm within the Chafford Hundred Nature Reserve.

The victim, a 47 year old man from Grays, was attacked from behind and pulled to the floor where he was kicked in the head several times. Whilst unconscious cash was taken from his black rucksack and he sustained a broken nose.

When the victim came round he then walked along Devonshire Road and London Road, Grays and reported the assault at the police station. He was taken to hospital, treated and detained overnight.

While walking he was approached by a male member of the public offering assistance, who has not been identified at this time, and whom police would like to speak with.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and make contact with Dc Kennedy Emson at Grays police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
