Athletics: No break for Harriers as they shine at Lea Valley

THURROCK Harriers youngsters are proving to be strong competitors this season already. A hardy bunch were competing on Easter Sunday at Lee Valley and produced some fantastic results.

Daniel Knight kicked things off with a solid 8.88s 60m which is just outside his personal best swiftly followed by Jessica Smith running a 9.24s. Daniel then ran an impressive personal best in the 200m with a time of 29.61s.

The indoor pentathlon proved to be a fierce competition with some great results for Rhea Stavri and Liam Barnard who both put in 110% on the day.

Thomas Wakeling is proving to be the new rising star of the Thurrock Harriers club. His first outing as a pent athlete gave personal best performances and shows that there is a lot more to come from this youngster. Thomas will be now looking forward to the Essex comps and stamping his authority there along with his fellow Harriers.
