SHADOW portfolio holder, Garry Hague rose on the floor of the chamber to ask portfolio holder, cllr Andy Smith why the weight limit restrictions on Devonshire Road in Chafford Hundred had been removed before “noise mitigation measures” had been put in place.

  1. As regards the King Street site we should recall it was the previous Conservative administration that put this site into the Local Development Framework and Conservative Councillors that voted it be Council policy for this site to be developed and as pointed out by Cllr Kent, Conservative Councillors voted for this planning application so a bit hypocritical for Cllr Hebb to attack Labour on the issue – perhaps he should attack his fellow Conservative Councillors!

  2. well said Andy Smith, how much mitigation did Gary Hague offer the people of south stifford?,he is a truly despicable man.

  3. Perhaps I should translate what I believe Garry Hague is trying to say to CLLr Andy Smith

When the weight limit restrictions were imposed at Devonshire Road this made sure all HGV traffic came in through West Thurrock which gave Garry Hague the perfect opportunity to promote a lorry parking facility in Oliver road West Thurrock in favour of ICG Ltd and consequently an arguable point in the focus core strategy, by taking away the weight restriction at Devonshire Road this weakens the argument, and when you’re used to free office facilities for the Tory Association and incidentally ,it was used for a campaign office for a local MP, plus donations, I suspect Garry is expected to talk up about the situation

When you consider Garry Hague made no comment about anything over the last year it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb
