JANUARY began with the Thurrock Writers Circle members toasting in the New Year with a glass of wine.
Barbara Spencer won the TWC Christmas Short Story competition receiving a money prize and holds the TWC writers Trophy for the year. Also this month members are attending a Creative Writing course at the Bridge Rd Adult Centre this is a learning curve to help with the different aspects of our work.
Danielle Chinnon a new member to our group has taken the Second place prize with the Brentwood Writers Nancy Meggs competition.
The Thurrock Writers Festival will be held on Saturday 14th June at the Grays Library. Information for the writing competitions and workshop programmes can be obtained from the Library.
A belated Christmas meal out is to be arranged in February. Ten members and friends are going to the Thameside Theatre for the TOPS performance of ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ in March.
In this week’s workshop members were given a picture to give them an idea for a story, everyone participated and an excellent result was obtained. Many of these stories will be put into our next Anthology.
