Bedtime stories at Thurrock libraries

THREE of Thurrock Council’s libraries are running three bedtime story events for children aged four and above.

Young children and their families are invited to take their pillow and teddy bears along to a bedtime story night at their local library – Blackshots Library (Friday, 28 February) Stanford-le-Hope Library (Tuesday, 4 March) and Aveley Library (Thursday, 6 March) all at 6pm.

They simply need to book a place and visit the library at 6pm for an exciting hour of interactive storytelling fun, hot chocolate and cookies.

In previous years, parents have enthused over how the children enjoyed getting involved in the stories, encouraging shared reading with the hot chocolate and cookies as a welcome extra.

Tickets cost £1.50 and are available from any of the three libraries.

Grays Library – in the Thameside complex – is hosting another book-sale between Thursday, 30th January and Monday, 3 February.

Thurrock Council’s library service has been looking closely at its stock of books and those that are no longer needed are being put on sale.
