RADIO 4’s Any Questions came to the High House Production Park (HHPP) in Purfleet on Friday night.
The panel of writer Simon Heffer, Conservative MP, Eric Pickles, Labour MP, Diane Abbott and Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb produced a fascinating session of political debate.
Among the subjects covered were: Immigration, flooding, the environment and tax rates.
For many it was the conclusion to a very high profile week in Thurrock with HRH Prince Charles visiting the HHPP earlier in the week.
The audience, although not totally Thurrockians, were from a broad church of Thurrock organisations from politics, education, theatre, business and the arts.
Two of the people chosen to ask questions were Thurrock businessmen Jonathan Curzon and educationalist, Danielle Chinnon.
