COUNCIL leader, John Kent was in Corringham on Friday to support MEP Richard Howitt as he seeks re-election on May 22nd. The MEP gave a lot of support for Thurrock workers during the Petroplus crisis a couple of years ago.

Cllr Kent has been buzzing all over the borough on the campaign trail as he wants his party to continue to run Thurrock Council.

With so many wards in the east of the borough up for grabs, we spoke to cllr Kent about what he thought their campaign was getting on.

  1. Anybody listening to this interview would think there are only 2 Labour Councillors in East Thurrock. John Kent has plenty of praise for Councillor Phil Smith and praise for Councillor Richard Speight but not one mention of the 3rd Labour Councillor in East Thurrock Councillor Terry Hipsey. Could that be because he hasn’t lifted a finger to help any Labour Councillors during this election campaign?

  2. I have said many times before. This man and his Labour party are not fit for purpose and need to be ousted from this council. Over twenty thousand home with mould which is causing young children to become sick and will be Asthmatic for the rest of their lives. We are living in one of the most polluted boroughs and again this labour leader ignores it. We have more employed foreigners who can’t speak a word of ENGLISH botching up our repairs and for some reason feel they can bring your home up to standards. Let’s hope we haven’t got to put up with him and his nodding muppets any longer.
