AVELEY Village Community Forum is celebrating an Awards For All Grant of £8530 for its Active Aveley Project.
The Forum is launching its Active Aveley project at its Christmas Market on Sunday 14th December. The Forum has always incorporated activities and programmes designed at helping people to increase their fitness or have healthier lifestyles.
A spokesperson said: "This grant will enable us to expand our work further into the community and with residents of all ages. Events will include Military Style
Fitness programmes in the Recreation Ground, Teenage Obesity project in one of our local schools, Healthy Cooking and Eating and First Aid training specifically for mums with young children. We will be working with a number of partners including Change 4 Life, Tai Chi for Health (Essex) and Community Mums and Dads amongst others. Details of our events will be published in good time for people to book onto the events.
"This grant brings the total of funds brought into the Village by the Forum to just under £1.5 million. And we’re not stopping there!"
