BULPHAN in Bloom were out in force this Sunday planting two new Flower Beds. The beds comprise of a cherry tree ‘Prunus Kanzan’ dressed by an array of Lavender ‘Imperial Gem’. These new beds will provide nectar for Bee’s, a haven for wildlife and will also be a beautiful place for our community to visit and walk through in years to come.
Bulphan in Blooms chairperson Kelly Fiford said: ‘We could not have conceived of completing this project with our current funds, without the grant obtained by Sherry Ridler, from Veolia North Thames Trust".
"They have given the group £1456.00 toward this project, with Bulphan in Bloom contributing £500.00. Kelly says "Without these kinds of community funds, voluntary groups like Bulphan in Bloom would struggle to afford large projects like this, which enrich the lives of communities".
Bulphan in Bloom was set up eight years ago and now holds monthly village tidy days and completes planting projects such as this in Bulphan, through obtaining grants and fund raising events.
If you would like to support this worthwhile cause please contact Kelly Fiford on 07762700167.
Their next fundraising event is an afternoon cream tea and plant sale, on 16th May from 2pm until 4:30. This will be held at St Mary’s the Virgin Church in Bulphan. They hope to see you there.
