THURROCK Council employees will be aware of Jack Barnes for a number of reasons.
Many may not know his name but will recognise him by his ever-present red peaked cap and by the fact that he regularly protests outside the council office using a megaphone to amplify his scouse accent.
Jack Barnes believes his daughter Misty was ‘stolen by the state’ when Misty was taken from them when she was just a month old.
Jack, his partner Cheryl Rich and Misty have been in a number of national newspapers, popular magazines and BBC TV and radio, detailing their plight.
Jack has, it appears, always enjoyed the support of Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price. Jack even became a Conservative candidate for Grays in the local elections of 2015.
And on BBC’s highly rated Victoria Derbyshire programme last month, Jack paid tribute to the work of Jackie Doyle Price’s long time companion and local councillor Mark Coxshall.
But in recent days, Jack has told a local newspaper that he felt "used and let down" by the MP and has not "heard from her since the election."
On Wednesday night, Mr Barnes interrupted a Thurrock Council meeting and made a number of criticisms of Thurrock Council. He was escorted from the chamber by security.
Mr Barnes wants a public inquiry whilst it would appear that he has been advised to take the case through the courts.
On each occasion that YT has asked Mr Barnes for an interview he has informed us that "I can’t as I am under contract."
