THE August meeting of West Tilbury WI saw the members enjoying a more relaxed evening with a game of Bingo with lots of laughter when winning.
The ladies that went to the House of Commons for the day were impressed by the building and the history that was opened up before them. Also the MP Stephen Metcalfe who they met there. Stephen had previously been a speaker to our Institute.
Thanks were read out from several of the Institutes that had attended the West Tilbury birthday party in July.
As the Celebrations for the WI Centenary at Tilbury Terminal were disappointedly cancelled the Thames Group WI’s are each arranging their own. West Tilbury WI will be holding a Cheese and wine celebration evening on their September meeting. With the Raffle proceeds going to St Luke’s Hospice.
President Joanne Phillips be holding a a coffee meeting for The McMillan Nurses on September 25th at The Holiday Inn Basildon, 11am to 2pm, with entertainment. Tea And cake £3.
Several outings are being arranged. The Christmas meal will be held on the 4th December at The Ship East Tilbury.
Raffle prizes were won by Jane Woodman and Margaret Camp.
