THURROCK’S impressive run came to an end with a 4-1 defeat by Thamesmead Town on Tuesday night at Ship Lane.
The visitors took the lead when Richard Butler converted a 24th minute penalty but Fleet got back on level terms on the stroke of half time through Ross Wall.
However, it was a false dawn for Thurrock and the visitors went back in front through Jack Berry 15 minutes after the resumption.
Tyrus Gordon-Young added a third seven minutes later and any Fleet hopes for a comeback were dashed when he grabbed another in the 74th minute.
This was the first home defeat of the season for the Fleet.
They remain in third place, seven points off the top but with four games in hand on leaders Cray Wanderers.
They return to action on Saturday against Chatham Town in the first round of the FA Trophy.
