THE TOTAL amount spent of cash given to Thurrock’s in order to deal with it’s troubled families has just passed a million pounds.
A report to the Children’s Services committee at Thurrock Council detailed the spending since the scheme had been launched in 2010.
Total spending by 2020 is expected to be in excess of Â£1.3 million.
The report detailed that there will be over sixteen members of staff detailed to look after over a 1100 families.
The report defines troubled families as those who are involved in crime, truancy, unemployment and have health problems.
