WELL, we think how this one is going to go.
The Conservative councillor, Sue Little is the epitome of the local village councillor.
When Sue goes onto social media to tell us all of an event or meeting that she has had in Orsett or Bulphan or Horndon, you can feel the passion for her role skipping out of the ether.
The three villages needs councillors like Sue. Not always blessed with tact but always blessed with passion and purpose. There are also issues such as looked after children that Sue has been a trailblazer for.
Of course, this has been a politically difficult time for Sue as she has to combat the torrent of dissent over the proposal for a new Thames Crossing.
She has had an ally in South Basildon and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe in their conciliatory approach but has had to field the brickbats after the lamentably gauche comments from Jackie "Get Real" Doyle-Price.
The Labour candidate is former mayor and former prospective parliamentary candidate Carl Morris.
Yes, Carl is in many ways filling up the numbers but in other ways, he is a man to ask residents in Orsett and across the borough, to send a message to Westminster.
UKIP polled over 700 votes in 2014 (yes there also a Euro election) so it will be interesting to see what they poll here. In many ways, it will be a gauge to whether UKIP are heading up or down. Their candidate is Peter Curtis.
