THURROCK Scout Section had over 160 Scouts taking part in their annual district camp ‘Jamborama’.
The camp is run from Friday – Monday at their campsite, Condovers in West Tilbury.
The camp had many activities, both fun and informative, teaching the scouts life skills as well as them having fun. The Saturday was spent taking part in an ‘Entrepreneur’ Activity. In the morning they were given a Product or service to make up and then in the afternoon they had to turn them selves into budding Del Boys to sell that said product to the leaders.
Sunday saw half of the participants out on a 6.5 mile hike in the morning around the West Tilbury/East Tilbury area and the other half of the participants on site taking part on the 10 minute bases. Some of the bases were, changing a plug, cave maze, towing a car with block and tackle pullies and pioneering but to make a few. The scouts also took part in the brand new Vlogger Blogger badge promoting scouting via a video diary. Sunday evening saw one of our loud Camp fires with lots of song and laughter!
All in all a great camp and the young people certainly seemed to enjoy themselves.
