THE Thurrock Council Licensing Committee has given the organisers of the Soundon Festival in Aveley two more weeks to detail their emergency plans.
The committee sat on Tuesday night at the civic offices to hear presentations from Essex Police and their own licensing officers.
Essex Police suggested that the meeting be adjourned so that the organisers of the Festival, planned for mid-August in Aveley with a possible 5,000 revellers descending on the area, be given more time to fully flesh our their Emergency Management Plan.
Chair of the committee, cllr Graham Snell (UKIP), flanked by cllrs Joy Redsell (Cons) and cllr Steve Liddiard (Lab) adjourned for a short while along with their legal adviser.
On their return they agreed to adjourn the meeting until June 22nd.
The committee has the power to reject their licensing application, approve or approve with certain amendments.
