STUDENTS from the Gateway Academy were recently treated to a special performance and Q & A session, by local artist Brooklyn.
Being born and bred in Essex, Brooklyn felt that it would be a great idea to start her National promo tour in the county that she holds dear and had influenced the artist she has become.
Brooklyn has been approached by numerous major record labels after appearing on BBC’s The Voice in 2015. On the show she caught the attention, and was successfully chosen, to join the team of Will.i.am; the judge, legendary Pop producer and lead member of the internationally acclaimed band ‘The Black Eye Peas’.
Brooklyn got as far as the sing-off stage and has the most YouTube views of any blind audition to date, over 11 million and counting, and is the most viewed artist ever in the history of The Voice, with her videos topping more than 15 million views in just over one year. It’s fair to say that a fruitful future in the music industry awaits the bright young artist.
Music teacher, Miss Michelle Green, said “The students at the academy were delighted to hear her latest songs and even happier to get some photographs and autographs afterwards. We would like to thank Brooklyn for visiting us today!”
