New litter wardens issue 64 fines in first day!

LITTERING Enforcement Officers have issued 64 fines in the first day (7 December) on the beat in Thurrock.

Fines for littering and dog fouling have been issued to people across the borough.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, welcomed the action taken: “Residents from across the borough have told us – they want the council to take action and we have delivered what they have been asking for.

“I have said time and time again – those who litter our borough will feel the full force of the law. No ifs, no buts – it’s either bin it or ticket!”

Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Pauline Tolson, said: “This complements the great work our environment team have done over the summer to clean up the borough.

“We cannot allow selfish individuals to treat this borough like a rubbish dump.”
