RESIDENTS OF South Ockendon have been bedevilled by problems since Saturday.
Thurrock Council is aware of an issue affecting gas supplied from National Grid to residents in some parts of South Ockendon, causing boilers to become faulty.
The council was first made aware of the issue on Friday (24 February) and took immediate action to assist tenants, including issuing heaters and electric cookers.
Members of Thurrock Council’s housing team are going door-to-door in the affected area to provide assistance to any vulnerable residents.
Officers are in the area and in constant contact with National Grid to find the cause of the problem and ensure it was resolved for residents as soon as possible.
