UKIP Thurrock Candidate, Cllr Tim Aker has poured scorn on Labour’s election pledge to halt plans for a new Thames Crossing.
Tim Aker said: “It has been over a year since Highways England announced the proposed Thames Crossing options. For a year the Labour Party remained silent nationally. Nothing appeared in their manifesto as they didn’t consider it an important issue. Now less than 10 days from the General Election they have come up with a policy. This is pure desperation from a party trying desperately to ape UKIP.
“UKIP has been the only political party to nationally oppose the Thames Crossing since the options were put on the table and only UKIP put tackling the Thames Crossing in their manifesto.”
