Little Louie is the laureate of Little Thurrock

A THURROCK youngster has proved himself to be a master of words after winning a poetry competition recently.

Louie Sach, aged 8, submitted a poem called “Was It Real?” with the hope that it could be included in an anthology of verse.

Not only was the entry by the Little Thurrock Primary student accepted, it was judged by a panel to be the best poem.

The poem is being published in the Young Writers book called ‘Once Upon a Dream- Essex Bards’ which is coming out this month (July).

Louie said: ‘I feel really happy that I have won this competition. I’ve always loved writing poems and stories and would love to be a writer when I grow up’

Louie’s parents, Dawn and David are justly proud. Dawn said: ‘We couldn’t be prouder of Louie’s achievement in winning and being named Best Poet.

He always works hard and loves to write and we are so glad he has been recognised in this way.’
