THURROCK CVS are currently promoting a survey on behalf of local LGBT+ residents with the aim to gain a broad understanding of the LGBT+ community in Thurrock.
A spokesperson said: “A group of residents from across the LGBT+ community met last month to discuss what life was like in Thurrock. A broad discussion was held touching on the need for a support network, to social life in the borough as well as services including health and community safety.
The event was supported by Stonewall, Thurrock Community and Voluntary Service and Thurrock Council’s LGBT+ Staff Forum.
Kristina Jackson, CEO at Thurrock CVS said ‘This was a positive meeting and as a result, a survey has been developed to get more views from LGBT+ Thurrock residents.
“There was some appetite for more social opportunities, as well as more support and networking from this initial meeting. It was felt that a survey would help to gain more views at this stage’.
The survey runs from July 28th to September 15th and can be accessed via this link on the Thurrock CVS website www.thurrockcvs.rit.org.uk/lgbt-in-thurrock
