Tilbury taxi driver victim of knife-point robbery

ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed in Tilbury yesterday, October 21, shortly before 11.30pm.

The taxi driver was on Montreal Road when a man got into the car and threatened the driver with a knife.

The man stole a two-figure sum of cash and left in the direction of Calcutta Road.

The man was described by the victim as white, in his mid-20s and wearing a long coat.

Witnesses, anyone with information or anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area at the time is asked to contact Grays CID on 101 quoting incident 1347 of October 21. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
