SEVENTEEN hardy souls went down to the riverside in Grays and cleaned up.
The community-minded group stopped 33 sacks full of plastic including 336 bottles from entering the water.
There are many more regular river foreshore clean-ups planned for 2018 in Tilbury, Grays, Purfleet and Rainham.

The next clean-up at Grays is planned for 4th February from 10:30 to 12:00 meeting at the Yacht Club.
