MEMBERS of Thurrock’s NEW LGBT+ Community Forum are holding an event to mark LGBT+ History Month (this month-long event celebrates the history and achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in the United Kingdom).
To celebrate LGBT+ History month, they are screening Call Me By Your Name, nominated for four Oscars, and BAFTA winner for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Kristina Jackson, CEO at Thurrock CVS said, ‘this is a fantastic opportunity for LGBT+ Thurrock residents to come together and enjoy a brilliant film, but also to learn more about the NEW LGBT+ Forum. Come along and find out when the next meeting is and how you can get involved and shape the future of LGBT+ Community Forum, this is your chance to decide what it is you’d like to see – be it more social occasions, creating a network or more support opportunities. This is your chance to have your say.’
All LGBT+ people, friends and allies come and watch this fantastic film that critics are calling “a masterful coming of age tale.”
In Northern Italy in 1983, seventeen year-old Elio begins a relationship with visiting Oliver, his father’s research assistant, with whom he bonds over his emerging sexuality, their Jewish heritage, and the beguiling Italian landscape.
It’s a great opportunity to socialise, network and make new friends and enjoy a thoroughly terrific evening of entertainment.
Doors open 19:00 for networking
Film starts 19:30
Supported by the new LGBT Thurrock Community Forum and Thurrock Community & Voluntary Service.
