A well-deserving Year 11 student at the Gateway Academy, Jodie, was recently presented with an iPad as a reward for her outstanding attendance and behaviour. Since Year 1 within her primary provision (Herringham Primary Academy) until today (and now almost at the end of her Year 11) Jodie has not missed one day of education. In addition, during her entire time within the Gateway Academy Jodie has not incurred any negative points for behaviour.
Mr Dom Davison, Group Education Welfare Officer for the GLC, commented “The GLC is proud to present Jodie with an iPad Air for her outstanding attendance and behaviour. This is truly an incredible commitment to education. We would also like to thank her parents for their dedication to their daughter’s attendance and attitude towards school.”
Upon receiving her gift, Jodie said, “I was so surprised when Mrs McLaughlin called me to her office and presented me with the iPad. I am really happy that my achievement has been recognised by the Head of School and also by Mr Sadler (CEO of the GLC) as well as Mr Davison who is responsible for attendance across the GLC. I’m hoping to be a Family Liaison Officer in the future and would like to go to Palmer’s College when I leave to study Psychology, Sociology and Health & Social Care.”
