MInt Internship Success at TACC
ON Friday 25 May, Thurrock Adult Community College (TACC) and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions, held an event celebrating their MInt (My Internship) Supported Programme for learners aged 16-24 with High Needs, welcoming past, present and future Interns with their guests along with representatives from community groups.
Students were presented with certificates and show-cased their work through interactive displays and exhibits together with a video demonstrating how they have all grown in confidence, independence and experience. One of the Interns, Sam, delivered a professional speech to attendees alongside Jaki Bradley, TACC’s Principal, who praised the work and organisational skills of the MInt programme Interns and Tutors in delivering such a wonderful event.
The MInt programme is specifically aimed at young people in Thurrock who want to progress into paid employment, but who need personalised support and guidance to help them bridge the gap between young adult life and a workplace. TACC and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions partner to deliver this programme that assists High Needs learners who have an Educational and Health Plan (EHCP) to gain confidence plus build and practise the essential skills required in a workplace.
The programme runs over one or two years and includes classroom-based learning, job coaching and real-world work experience. In addition, learners may also be able to complete formal accreditations in Maths, English and Employability skills to enhance their future career prospects. If you are interested in enrolling or want further information, come along to one of the coffee mornings, being held at the Grays Adult Education Centre on
Friday 29 June or Tuesday 4 September, both at 10am. Call the college on 01375 372476 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
