Record numbers pass A-Levels in Thurrock
THURROCK students are celebrating another strong year of A-level results after it was announced that 100% of students in Thurrock schools have achieved A* to E passes this year.
The provisional results, which were announced on Thursday 16th August, showed an increase on last year’s results which saw 96.4% of A-level students achieving A* to E passes.
The pass rates from each sixth form in the borough are as follows:
· The Stanford and Corringham Sixth Form Centre – 100%
· Ockendon School Academy and Studio School – 100%
· Harris Academy Chafford Hundred – 100%
Students at Unified Seevic Palmers College, which has campuses in Grays and Benfleet, received 97% A* to E passes this year across the merged campuses.
Cllr James Halden, Portfolio Holder for Health and Education, visited Unified Seevic Palmer’s College on the day to congratulate those receiving their results. He said, “Once again our young people put Thurrock on the map as they continue to achieve some truly spectacular A-level results. Our students are an outstanding success and everyone who received their results today should be proud of the work they’ve put into achieving them.
“These results form the foundation of their careers, helping to inform the educational and vocational routes that they can take to further success. I wish all our students the very best of luck for the future!”
