RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on plans to extend an order which prevents car cruising events from being held on the roads of West Thurrock.
The Public Service Protection Order (PSPO) will prevent any vehicle, driver, passenger or spectator from taking part in any kind of car cruising event on roads in West Thurrock. It extends the current order which has been in place for the last three years and is set to expire at the start of December.
Cllr Rob Gledhill, Leader of Thurrock Council, said: “The PSPO in place has had a positive effect in cracking down on the scourge of car cruising events in West Thurrock. These events are a real nuisance to residents living in the area and we want to extend the PSPO for another three years and expand the area it covers to protect even more roads.
“I would urge anyone living in this area to take part in the consultation and show their support for our plans to extend this order and keep reckless car cruisers out of our borough.”
