THE final race of the Essex Road Running Championship (Sunday 22nd) brought success for Toni Radley, winning a county silver medal in the Wix 5 miles at Harwich. It’s been a another excellent year for Toni, winning a bronze and silver medal in her previous two Essex Road races.
The five mile race also brought success for other Harriers with Jodie Farrell securing her 3rd spot in the Essex Road Grand Prix and the ever improving Rob Doyle grabbing a PB with a time of 28mins 58sec.
There were seven Harriers endurance runners in the race with Paul Mitchell, in his final preparations for the New York Marathon, running well (34:22) and Chris Applegate, returning from injury, completing an excellent 34:24 . Rounding off the team were Mick Bumstead and Bernie Johnson, both with injuries, running to gain Grand Prix points.
