THE MILLERS kept their promotion challenge on track with a solid victory against bottom side Romford.
Goals by Firmin Ngandu (35′) and Alexander Akrofi (45′) secured all three points for the Millers.
The result leaves Aveley in second place, level on points with league leaders, Bowers and Pitsea.
They return to league action on Saturday at home against Maldon and Tiptree.
