intu Lakeside takes ‘The Quay’ to local schools

OVER 350 school children across Essex have been visited by intu Lakeside to learn about and experience the exciting 250,000 sq ft development – The Quay, taking shape on their doorsteps.

In the past week, intu Lakeside has visited Warren Primary, West Horndon Primary and Thurrock’s Youth Cabinet to tell school children about the new leisure resort which includes Hollywood Bowl, Flip Out adventure park and a host of other leisure experiences which will be opening in the next couple of months, such as Nickelodeon Adventure – family entertainment centre, Puttshack tech mini golf, and many new restaurants.

intu Lakeside’s first leisure tenant to open this year, Hollywood Bowl, also visited the schools with their pop-up bowling alley and mascot – Bumper the Mouse, who was extremely popular among the kids. For some school children, this was their first-time bowling.

Twins from West Horndon Primary, Lexi and Logan, were extremely excited as they celebrated their 7th birthday bowling at school.

Mrs Richardson, Teacher at West Horndon Primary, said: “We were really happy to welcome intu Lakeside to our school. The children were very excited to hear about all the new activities happening so close by. The experience gave the children an opportunity to write about something real, as they wrote and drew recounts of the morning.”

Howard Oldstein, regional centre director at intu Lakeside, said: “It means a lot to us for our local community to be involved with the new development at intu Lakeside. The new addition will create a new and compelling experience for local people that will last from early morning to late evening and we want as many children, young people and adults as possible to be part of this new experience.

“The school children were all so enthusiastic about the new leisure development which shows us that we are providing the right experiences for our local community to enjoy.”

The school tour will continue throughout July, if your school would like to get involved please contact Sarah Rivett on
