ADAM and Joseph Herbert, students from the Harris Academy have successfully completed 16 weeks of volunteering with CTE Thurrock.
Whilst with CTE Thurrock both Adam and Joseph most certainly have grown in confidence demonstrating ability to work on their own and with the team.
A spokesperson said: “From the very first tea party they both made friends with tea party guests who average age 85 and all our volunteers. Their volunteering involved meeting, greeting guests, supporting them if they have mobility issues, making them feel comfortable, making copious cups of tea and serving our elderly guests tea party food at the table.
“For St Patrick’s Day tea party they both dressed up as a Leprechaun and really got into the spirit of the event making this special for our guests. Also really supporting our Summer outing where there were 130 CTE guests and volunteers. Both Adam and Joseph are very respectful of our guests, they listen and have a lovely friendly nature with a good sense of humour. They have both excelled in working as a member of the volunteer team. It has been a real pleasure to work alongside them both and wish them the very best for the future.
“Adam and Joseph and their Mum Katy enjoyed tea with our guests. Thank you so much Adam and Joseph for choosing CTE to volunteer for and for your dedication and exceptional volunteering. Adam and Joseph were presented with a CTE Youth Development Certificate and a gift towards their studies next year.
